Trustworthy mechanics. I’ve always worked on my own vehicles but now I’m too busy to do so. I’ve gone to Tripp’s half a dozen times or more since moving to New Haven. — These guys are genuine and will help get you the best deal they can. Wish there were more shops like this still around!

This is a small family owned business. This is not a shop where you can expect to walk in and have you car serviced and returned to you same day. However, Rich and Anthony are kind and honest and super professional and most importantly AFFORDABLE. My recommendation would be to schedule your appointments in advance and make alternate transportation plans. It's worth it!

This place is seriously the best. As someone with not a lot of (good) experience with shops, rich is fantastic. I know that I won’t get screwed over, he’s honest and tells you straight up what needs to get done and what could wait if you’re short on funds (like most of us.) and it’s affordable! I got a quote elsewhere for hundreds of $ more than what Tripps charged me. I always recommend them to whoever needs work done.

Friendly, reliable, and excellent service. Thorough and honest, helpful and informative; Richie is always there to fully address any concerns and will give you the straight, honest truth about your vehicle along with helpful advice. He gives you all the options and will truly work with you to get your ride up and running. He really cares and it really shows. Would recommend Tripp's over any mechanic/shop I've ever been to or met elsewhere; great work and a truly wonderful individual. Thanks Rich!

This was my first visit. I came in with a power steering problem. Rich assessed the problem, fixed it, and charged a fair price for the work he did. I'll be back.

Knowledgeable, Professional, Friendly, Fair. Delivers when they say they will. Honest. Will save you money even when it means they could have had a big ticket repair. I come from Madison just to be serviced by them. Worth the trip from anywhere.

Rich is the best. He is very patient and always takes time to explain what issues my car is having. Instead of trying to make money off of anything(especially as a woman), he always gives an honest opinion and leaves it up to me to make the final decision. He even once took my car for a drive(with me) at 7:30 AM and explained what was happening as he was driving. I appreciated that he fit me in before work when he didn't have to! He is always flexible. I will not go anywhere else!

Owner Rich Pepe's sterling reputation is well-deserved. We have been bringing our cars to him for years and he has never let us down. His prices are very reasonable, and Rich is really good at explaining the car's issues and assessing the urgency of repair. A+++

Nothing like the peace of mind of knowing a good mechanic, these guys are that for me. Well explained procedure to get your car running, with transparent and fair pricing. The only problem is that for these good reasons they are busy. So call before showing up, it's better to have an honest mechanic tell you to come back later, than learning that your car has been untouched for days at the less scrupulous shops.
